Looking ahead

Christmas is still over two months away, but we at St Thomas’ are already planning services and events.

As usual on Christmas Eve there will be our Crib Service at 4.30pm amd midnight mass at 11.30pm. As it’s Sunday, there will also be a Sung Eucharist at 10am. On Christmas Day there will be a service at 10am. Phew! Four services in 24 hours; spare a thought for Barry, our Vicar.

On a less formal note, we’ll be singing Christmas carols in front of the church, from 6pm on Sunday 17th. Please join us, and afterwards for mince pies and mulled wine.

The Over 60s will hold their Christmas carol service at 2.30pm on Tuesday 12th December.

Before then we have a service where we remember those we love but see no longer; those already with Christ. That will be the main focus when we meet at 10am on Sunday November 5th, at 10am. Please come, and bring a flower as a token of that love. It will be placed on the altar, to re-dedicate our loved ones to God’s mercy and love.

The following week, November 12th at 10am, we remember those who have died fighting for our country, in many wars. At our Sung Eucharist there will be the Act of Remembrance at 11am.

Busy times!
